Summary:
The Refugee Reception and Placement Program at Catholic Charities provides resettlement services to newly arrived refugees during their first 90 days in the US.
The Refugee Resettlement VISTA will successfully promote and support the mission of refugee resettlement at Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings through the establishment and implementation of services focusing on volunteer engagement, resource development, community outreach & donation and inventory management.

Essential Functions:
oDevelop, implement, and coordinate volunteer opportunities while providing volunteers training and support to increase the Reception and Placement program's capacity.
oCollect donations, organize, implement, & coordinate donation drives.
oMaintain an accurate count of inventory, supplies and related financial records to properly track for reporting and continue to meet the needs of refugee families ensuring compliance with funding requirements and agency quality assurance standards.
oIdentify best practice opportunities and opportunities to streamline the provision of donations, inventory and other R&P services.
oDevelop processes and procedures for housing newly arrived refugee families in accordance to the R&P cooperative agreement to better serve new refugee arrivals.
oEngage in community outreach and provide education to donors and volunteers on refugee services.
oDevelop new partnerships with donors, organizations, community members and current volunteers to improve relationships and strengthen community support of resettlement.
oOther duties as assigned if staff capacity is reached such as during times of global crises.
Requirements MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
oAbility to work effectively in an environment that is very diverse, with a familiarity of refugee populations and able to ensure confidentiality of all clients.
oEstablish highly effective relationships with clients, community agencies, volunteers, and other staff members.
oMust be reliable, punctual, professional, and able to follow instructions and handle emergency situations.
Must also be able to work independently from general instructions.
oMust be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, and weekends.
oMinimum high school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience working with refugees, affordable housing and/or volunteers, preferred.
oMust possess a valid Kansas or Missouri Driver's license, dependable transportation, current vehicle insurance and a verified safe driving record.
oMust have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills along with strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
oMust complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending, lifting and moving Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds- may need to lift or move heavier items based on resettlement needs of clients May be exposed to infectious diseases Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of environments that may include walking on rough terrain and climbing stairs Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving Recommended Skills Technical Support Desktop Support Computer Hardware Help Desk Support Microsoft Windows Xp Peripheral Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
