Performs complex information processing and distribution tasks. Conducts data quality and process improvement tasks to ensure the overall accuracy and efficiency of the data entry program. 1. Records Management: File documents and records, update logbooks, and update the record management database. Retrieve files from storage. Periodically inventory and box records for shipment to the Federal Records Center. 2. Data Management: Perform data entry, generate and proofread database reports. 3. Sample Management: Prepare shipping documents, properly label and pack environmental samples for shipment. Enter sample information in LIMS. Enters data from forms, images or documents into a database and conducts validation on data entered for quality control. Reviews and verifies source documentation and data files and takes corrective action to resolve insufficient or questionable data. Develops file maintenance, improvement, and retrieval techniques to enhance the data management system. Performs quality control audits to ensure accuracy, completeness and proper usage of systems and data. Formulates policies, procedures and standards relating to data entry and monitors transaction activity and utilization. Prepares progress and performance reports. Ensures that quality, production and turnaround time standards are achieved. Coordinates directly with internal and external agencies/customers relative to file requirements and data outputs. Assists Data Analysts on a variety of database activities, as required. Prepares appropriate technical documentation. Verbally presents information at project review sessions and in informal interface with customers. Provides technical assistance to other staff in the use, interpretation, and retrieval of file data. Provides guidance to less experienced Data Specialists. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Associates Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work experience and at least 5 years related experience. Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience. Ability to follow established procedures and knowledge of database operation sufficient to perform the full range of duties involved in maintaining program data, including data entry, generating reports, proofreading, and filing required. This position requires the selected candidate to lift, move, and retrive boxes of data from shelves and storage areas, as well as lift up to 50 pound boxes. Attention to detail and good organization skills required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must be proficient in MS Office Word and Excel. Knowledge of Access desireble. Experience using SCRIBE and/or LIMS preferred. DOT training preferred. Must be a US Citizen and be able upon hire to obtain a US government Public Trust Certificate.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
