With limited supervision and the aptitude to take the lead as required, this position supports the network and technical day-to-day activities of the Information Technology Department providing 2nd lead support in complex hardware and software problems for both the public library system and USD 500 school libraries and remotely including the impending mobile library services (bookmobile). Keeps immediate supervisor well informed of activities and corrective actions completed or required to provide seamless network services to the library community 24/7. Requires the ability to train others in the use of hardware and software both formally and informally including word processing, spreadsheets and related databases. Participates in project planning for both internal and external uses dealing with installation of complex software/hardware and/or handling of network/equipment/application performance issues.
Bachelors degree required with at least 3 years of progressive responsibilities in a Windows or Linux environment. Knowledge of and experience with computer operating systems, including strong working knowledge of Windows 7 and RedHat Linux and the ability to configure software and hardware to work effectively in these environments. Practical experience implementing and supporting the design, planning and maintenance of WAN and LAN and knowledge of network environments and protocols including Ethernet and TCP/IP. Practical experience implementing and supporting WAN and LAN routing and switching using Cisco or Juniper equipment. Practical experience implementing and supporting Active Directory. Must have knowledge of program languages, sufficient for creation of PC scripts, batch files, etc.
Will be required to provide own transportation to and from library locations and within the metropolitan area as required. Must have the ability to interact with the public and staff in a courteous and professional manner via phone or on-site. The capability of handling up to 50 pounds at one time and to stoop, reach, stand, stretch, walk, sit and use of hands and fingers is representative of functions that may be necessary with or without assistance to successfully perform the functions of this position. Salary range: $30,250-49,368 doq. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
