Job Title: Youth Recruitment Assistant
Reports to: Youth Program Manager
Office Location: Kansas Area III
Summary: Responsible for assisting the WIA Youth Program staff with outreach and recruitment of youth.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Recruit potential WIA Youth program candidates.
2. Offer presentations to schools, organizations, and agencies serving youth.
3. Generate reports to Youth Program Manager to measure progress towards recruitment and performance goals.
4. Develop creative outreach projects and submit to management for review and approval.
5. Coordinate with local agencies and businesses to develop a network of referral sources to support a continuous pipeline of youth candidates.
6. Perform all other duties as assigned by Youth Program Manager.
Other Job Duties: Maintain professional relationships with other workforce center partners and community organizations. Will perform community outreach activities to increase enrollment levels. Other duties and special projects as needed to meet overall youth program enrollment objectives.
Qualifications:
Education: Currently in college working toward a degree, (preferably in Human Services, Business, or Education area) or equivalent experience
Experience: Experience in human/customer service. Previous experience in WIA Youth programming and the employment/training field preferred.
Skills/Abilities: Leadership ability. Ability to interpret and understand program policy and establish necessary work processes and procedures for staff. Ability to establish rapport with, and motivate, disadvantaged and/or dislocated participants. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Good problem solving skills. Ability to organize and prioritize. Keyboarding skills with accuracy and knowledge or Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel.
Other: Ability to learn and utilize Federal and State policies as they apply to their particular program area. Must have reliable transportation, valid drivers license and adequate vehicle insurance coverage. Job offers are contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screen.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
