The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. Intake/Assess, investigate, conciliate, and/or resolve complex, highly sensitive and difficult allegations of discrimination related to housing, and employment. Perform compliance reviews of the fair housing policies/ practices of recipients of federal monies, i.e., Public Housing Authorities, Assisted Housing, and other HUD subsidized housing programs. Assess program effectiveness by reviewing fair housing program plans for consistency with program objectives. Identify operational problems and recommend corrective action. Experience:
For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience investigating discrimination in housing, lending, or other real estate-related transactions. OR Experience in conducting research and analysis for development of an assessment of fair housing, equity assessment, or analysis of impediments to fair housing choice. OR Experience conducting fact finding AND working toward resolution for investigations/reviews that assess compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. OR Combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 2 years may be credited for education and combined with experience. The total percentages must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Experience investigating discrimination cases. (Including:
party and witness interviews, document review, conducting on-site investigations, and analyzing evidence) OR Experience in assisting in the development of a public housing authority 5-year plan or City/County/State consolidated plan. OR Experience conducting fact finding for investigations/reviews that assess compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 or Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. OR EDUCATION:
A related master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR A Combination:
Combination of experience and education. This is creditable providing the combination total percentage equals 100% of the requirement. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. For the GS-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-collecting, analyzing, and reviewing information for special projects. OR Education:
1 full year of graduate level education OR Superior academic achievement (completed (or expect to complete within 9 months) all the requirements for a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in upper third of the graduating class OR G.P.A. 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; OR Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society) OR Combination of education & experience. This is creditable providing the combination consists of 100% of the requirement.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
