SUPER SCANNERTWO XC BASE ANTENNA Up for sale is a totally newScanner base antenna that covers reception from 28 mhz. thru 1200MHZ fromwell known Antenna designer Lowbander. It works with allmodes: Analog or Digital transmissions. Great for Listening toTrunking Systems! The Super ScannerTwo XC has 4 separate elements inside the plastic tube so users will getmaximum single band resonant frequency performance with the highest signalstrength. This is a feature many antennas on Ebay do not have! BEWARE OF SCANNER ANTENNAS THATARE UNDER 19" IN LENGTH! USUALLY THEY WILL BE NOTHING MORE THAN RUBBER DUCKIESJUST STUCK INSIDE A PVC TUBE! It comes with a female BNCsocket , so common scanner coaxes should plug right in to the antenna . The buyer willattach his own coax. It is recommended at least RG-6 , 75 Ohm coax, as theminimum quality lead-in cable. RG59 can be used be used also. If you don't have your coax cable, then check out one ofScanner antennas that comes with the coax already attached in my Ebay Store. The Super Scanner Two-XC is guaranteed to hear better than thetelescoping rod antenna that comes with most base scanners! It has a single elementfor reception on the 28mhz-220 Mhz range(This includes CB channels, theAircraft frequencies, 2 Meter Ham, Fire and Law enforcement frequencies), another element for the 400-500 MHZ range(This includes Ham, Fire, Police,local government frequencies), a third element for the 800-900 MHZ band, (Thisis the new popular Law Enforcement & Fire frequencies, Cell phone bands andham bands) and a fourth element for the 1200 MHZ. band(Mostly Ham and some LawEnforcement frequencies). Each element is carefully tuned for maximumsignal reception so the antenna performs like 4 separate mono bandantennas. A ground plane element for each band is enclosed in thePVC tube and completes the antenna. Many scanner antennas sold onEbay never mention the groundplane, because their antenna does NOT have a builtin groundplane, which seriously affects the performance. The SuperScanner Two XC has 4 separate groundplanes, one for each of the 4 separateantennas!! FYI: Scanner users shouldunderstand that the VHF/UHF radio signals transmitted by police, fire, govt.,public service agencies, and ham repeaters are mostly line of sight signals. Scanner listeners in mountainous areas may have serious problems thisfactor. This means if your home is in a valley or location that is in alow spot, geographic terrain (hills and mountains) will block your reception ofsignals. This is true for ALL ANTENNAS, unless you install an antenna highenough to see over the low areas, your reception will be limited by thesenatural features. Sometimes even buildings, water towers, steel power poles orhouses can block signals. Height above ground is the most important feature ofa good antenna installation. DO YOUR HOMEWORK! CHECK OUT WHERE THETRANSMITTING REPEATER TOWERS ARE IN YOUR AREA AND INSTALL YOUR ANTENNA IN APLACE THAT HAS A CLEAR SHOT OR LINE OF SIGHT AT THE TOWER!! Enclosed in a sealed PVC tube,the antenna is a waterproof unit for outdoor use in any weatherconditions. It is approximately 33" in length. * ALL BNC COAX CONNECTORSARE SOLDERED!! NO CHEAP CRIMP or TWIST ON CONNECTORS HERE, LIKE MOSTOF THE OTHER SELLERS ON EBAY. THIS DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LONG TERM USEOF THE ANTENNA!! Just like all VHF-UHF antennas,the Super Scanner Two XC Antenna works best at the highest heightyou can install it. This model of Super Scanner Two XC isdesigned for mast/ tower installation. It has the same antennasinside as the Super Scanner One Antenna which is also sold on Ebay. Seethe pictures above on how the antenna is attached to themast/tower. Stainless steel hose clamps are used to secure the antenna to themast/tower. These clamps are NOT included with the antenna because everybody's installation is unique to their location. These cheap hose clamps can bepurchased from Lowes/ Home Depot or just about any hardware store. Automotivestores also sell these as radiator hose clamps. The Super Scanner Two XC is aneasy installation. If you can turn a screw driver you can install this antenna!A recent customer sent over (the last picture above) how heinstalled the Super Ham/Scanner 3 at his QTH. All he added was a short pieceof mast(not included in the auction) and attached the antenna withhose clamps as recommended.
